Empowering Students

International Research and Agricultural Development provides numerous opportunities for students interested in gaining international experiences, leadership, and communication skills. IRAD students have traveled to Rwanda to build agricultural innovations, worked in Malawi on quinoa research, visited Brazil to tour the Amazon and the agriculture industries, and have worked with IRAD on multiple projects. IRAD partners with students across all WSU departments to help them gain international, cultural, and leadership experiences, and the department provides students with lessons that will resonate both locally and globally. By pairing each student to personal interests within their desired career field, IRAD creates a partnership between the student and program that generates a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience.
